Position Title: Engineer Supervisor
Department: Engineering
Reports to: Chief Engineer
Status: Hourly Non-Exempt
 
Position Summary:
The Engineering Supervisor plays a key leadership role in ensuring that all guest rooms are maintained to the highest standards of Marriott through a proactive and structured preventive maintenance program. This position is responsible for supervising the execution of regular inspections, maintenance tasks, and repairs to minimize equipment failures and enhance the guest experience. The supervisor will coordinate with the engineering team and other departments to maintain room quality, reduce downtime, and improve operational efficiency.

 
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Supervise and execute a robust Preventive Maintenance Program (PMP) for all guest rooms, including HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, furniture, fixtures, and appliances.
  • Conduct regular room inspections using maintenance checklists to identify and resolve issues before they affect guests.
  • Assign daily PM tasks to engineering team members and follow up to ensure timely and high-quality completion.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance work performed in each guest room, including schedules, parts used, and issues found.
  • Collaborate with Housekeeping and Front Office teams to minimize guest disruption during maintenance work.
  • Support training of engineering staff on proper PM procedures and standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels of tools, supplies, and parts related to room maintenance and initiate purchase requests when necessary.
  • Respond to guest room maintenance requests and emergencies as needed, ensuring prompt and courteous service.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards, including OSHA and hotel brand standards.
  • Assist the Chief Engineer in departmental planning, budgeting, and project coordination as needed.
  • Provide leadership and support to the engineering team in the absence of the Chief Engineer.
 
Essential Functions
  • Ability to verbally communicate effectively with guests and co-workers.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking.
  • Ability to visually check work, work area, and hotel space.
  • Minimum lifting of 30 pounds.
 Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in hotel engineering or facilities maintenance.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and mechanical systems in hospitality settings.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Proficient in using work order management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, work in confined spaces, and perform tasks while standing, climbing, and bending.
  • Flexible schedule availability, including weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations.

  • Ability to follow grooming standards & follow hotel's grooming policy 
 
Safety Awareness
Maintain safety by adhering to safety policies, being responsible to report all accidents immediately. Support all safety programs. Proceed with caution when walking on slippery floors.  Ensure proper safety instructions are given before operating any equipment.
 
Notice:
ARLLC, operating as Augusta Marriott at the Convention Center, function seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day.  You as an associate must realize this fact and be aware that at times, it may be necessary to move you from your accustomed shift, as business demands.  In addition, you understand that business determines the amount of hours you work, and that some weeks may be scheduled for less than forty hours, and on other weeks you may be scheduled to work more than forty hours per week.
Compensation: $21.00 per hour
